Convert cassette tape to MP3.

This tutorial will show you how to transfer your cassette tapes to MP3 audio files.


What you need?

  1. Connecting the cassette tape to your pc. This can be done via the line-out of your cassette tape to the line-in of your pc.

Chapter 1

Converting cassette tape to PCM MP3 files.

  1. You can mark the option 'Start record when noise is detected' so the recording process will start to work only when a noise is detected.

    2.  

  2. You can also mark the option 'Restart record when X seconds of silence is detected', so the program will automatically split the recording process by the silence between the audio tracks on the cassette.

  3. Select the sound card that connected to the cassette tape from the 'Record From' list.

  4. Set the Destination Format to MP3.

     

  5. Click on the Play button of the cassette tape.

    6.  

  6. Click on Record button of the program.

    7.  

  7. Now the program will save the audio tracks from the cassette to your PC as MP3 audio files, and display them under the files list of the program.

  8. When the converting process of the first side of the cassette is ended, you can click on the 'Stop' button of the program. Now open the door of the cassette tape and turn the cassette to the second side, then click on the 'Play' button of the cassette tape.

  9. Click on the 'Record' button of the program, the second side of the cassette will now be saved to the items list of the program.

  10. That's it. Now you should have all the audio tracks of cassette tape on your PC as MP3 files.

  11. By this way you can convert the tracks of the cassette tape to PCM WAV / ACM WAV / WMA / OGG / APE audio format, just select the wanted format from the Destination Format list.
